I received this from a friend I have on another board:
This is the daughter of my friends cousin. This is so tragic. If you’d care to, please pray for Allie and her family.
Hey Everyone,
I sent this email to my co-workers and church family and was told today to send it to all the family so that it could be used to put on your prayer list at church. There is no other information at this time.
My oldest brother’s great-granddaughter, Allie (9), was playing playstation with her brother, Devin (11), Friday afternoon around 5:45. Allie had a butterfly bead in her mouth, as children do, and while they were playing and laughing, Allie accidently sucked the bead into her throat and began choking. Immediately, her mom saw it and tried the heimlich maneuver but was unable to extract the object. Devin ran across the road to get his Grandmother, who is a retired nurse. She started CPR on her while waiting for the EMT to arrive. They were never able to retrieve the object and Allie lost conscienceness. They were unable to help her at Wayne and she was air lifted to Pitt. The bead had been lodged in her lung and the lung had collapsed. The bead has been surgically removed and she has been in a drug induced coma since then. The doctors have tried to bring her out of the coma but every time she goes into seisures. Tonight they were told that Allie has extensive brain damage due to the length of time she was without oxygen. She is breathing with the help of the ventilator.
Please help us pray that the Lord’s perfect will be done in this situation. They will begin to slowly take all the drugs away from her tomorrow in hopes that she will wake up on her own. The doctors said that it could be days or weeks. Carrie (mom) and Thomas (dad) have not left her side. Pray for strength for them as they face this uncertain future. Carrie told me today that she has given her over to God and wants Him to take control.
I know that NOTHING is too hard for our God.
Thank you for your prayers.
*My friend told me to pass this to whoever I thought would pray…Instantly I thought of CAF. If I get any updates I’ll be sure to post.
