Hello everyone,

I was a member of the old CAF, and I’ve started another account specifically for this prayer request. I know there are still lots of amazing prayer warriors on this site.

Please pray for my good friend Ruth. She woke up one day to suddenly find her vision had gone, and she went to the hospital shortly afterwards. It was there where she was diagnosed with Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease (CJD), which is a fatal degenerative brain disorder. She was given only two months to live. It all feels so sudden, and it’s terrifying. Ruth is Christian, though she is Anglican and not Catholic.

I pray that God heals Ruth of CJD and that He blesses her with endurance, to finish the race. Amen.

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from the darkness. I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal Ruth.

You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk. You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from the dead. I ask you to send forth Your healing power into her body and give her the strength to fight this illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

St Jude, the patron of difficult cases, you left us an Epistle in the New Testament. With good reason many invoke you when illness is at a desperate stage. I now recommend to your kindness Ruth who is in a critical condition. May the cure of this patient increase her faith and love for the Lord of Life, for the glory of our merciful God. Amen.

O Lord, we call upon You in our time of sorrow, that You give us the strength and will to bear our heavy burdens, until we can again feel the warmth and love of Your divine compassion. Be mindful of us and have mercy on us while we struggle to comprehend life’s hardships. Keep us ever in Your watch, til we can walk again with light hearts and renewed spirits.
