Please fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, please pray for an outpouring of God’s grace and healing to awash me and heal the terrible disease of scrupulously and anxiety. May the brokenness of my mind be made whole, may the wounds of my heart be bound up, and may Gods grace wash me, and cleanse me of every doubt and fear. All through the intersession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our mother.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. x10

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Father by your grace may the Holy Spirit heal MaryV and make her whole. May she follow strong in your word. In your name, Jesus amen!

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

Our Lady of Mental Peace, Mother of Tranquility
and Hope, look upon us in this time of unrest.
Please bring our needs to your Divine Son: that
God’s gentle peace, which this world cannot give,
be with us always; that God will give us the grace
to share this peace with others; and that God will
show us that His love is unchanging. In Jesus’
name, amen.

Our Lady of Mental Peace, pray for us.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal ( My back). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into My body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,

Mother of Tranquility

and Mother of Hope,

look upon MaryV in this time

of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart

to know that God’s Love

for her is unchanging and

unchangeable, and, that

true human love can only

begin and grow by touching

His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -

which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this

same Peace into the lives

of others.

Our Lady of Mental Peace,
  • Pray for us!
Amen.

Jesus, Help Me!

In every need let me come to You with humble trust,

saying:

Jesus, help me!

In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations:

Jesus, help me!

In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:

Jesus, help me!

In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments,

troubles and sorrows:

Jesus, help me!

When others fail me, and Your Grace alone can assist me:

Jesus, help me!

When I throw myself on Your tender Love as Savior:

Jesus, help me!

When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good

come from my efforts:

Jesus, help me!

When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me:

Jesus, help me!

When I am ill, and my head and hands cannot work and

I am lonely:

Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls and short-

comings of every kind:

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, help me and never forsake me!

Amen

I prayed for you. Pray for me also. I just found out I had this disorder the other night, so I know how hard it can be.

Looking back to a time before I was Christian it should have been obvious even then that I had religious OCD because I would read 23 horoscopes every morning before school, check an online fortune cookie, and plan my day around whatever I learned through horoscopes and divination.

After becoming Christian, I searched for a lot of signs from God to confirm to me that I would be okay and that He still loved me. I realize recently that I opened a lot of doors for demons to deceive me because I searched for signs too often. It led to confusion and mental unrest and uncertainty about whether I’m doing God’s will or not. I can look back and realize I did many things that were not God’s will, only thanks to Bible verses showing me that what I did was a sin way later in the future. I’m trying to give up sign-seeking now and am ignoring everything that tries to make me think it’s a sign from God.

There is the nagging voice that tells me I’m hardening my heart and blaspheming the Holy Spirit (terrifying thoughts) but I know these signs that are telling me to do certain things are trying to make me sin and are not from God. I tested the spirits multiple times asking if Jesus was the son of God. I either wouldn’t get an answer, got “No.” another time and then a yes afterwards. I’m not convinced by the out of place “yes” since I outright was told no when I previously asked.

I’m done seeking signs. I’m just praying for peace now, and for those who are suffering similarly to me. May God help us, sis🙏 I said a prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace and a Hail Mary.

Praying for your intention.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Phil 4:6)

“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” (Mt 6:34)

The Good News: Don’t let worries about the future overwhelm you; turn to the Lord for support in the present.

Thanks for the warning against self deception. I needed that reminder too. Also, the evil one seeks to destroy us by feeding us lies. Not every thought that pops into our mind is from oneself. The devil will even try to twist God’s word against us. We need to learn how to resist him. What you wrote reminds me of how we need to test things against the word of God and against reason. Sometimes we can second guess ourselves even after we have reasoned about something and previously settled the issue the best we could. Whether it is determining God’s will or the presence of sin. Jesus tells us we all sin because it comes from within (Mt15:19). Even when we commit no sin there is the sinful nature that tries to lead us astray. There is something broken in us all that only Jesus can fix. We also need the help of others and the Sacrements to keep us in check. Self deception is all too easy to fall into when we isolate ourselves from others who can help us.

While God can give us signs we can end up trying to take control into our own hands and use God like he is a ouji board or horoscope (which can often backfire). Instead of putting our trust in Him because He loves us, (and allowing Him to work in His own time). He loves us as we are. We don’t have to change for him to love us. But, if we should want to change it should be to become more like Him who is the lover of our souls. The only direction of change truly worth changing to is towards Him. When we sin if we confess our sins he is faithful and just and will forgive us. (1 jn 1:9). We need to learn to pray and put our trust in Him, who loves us more than we love ourselves, Him who died for us. Lord help us to set our minds on You and Your goodness, and not on the darkness.

Lord, as we live, we lean in painful directions. Jesus, as we carry our crosses, may we lean upon Your grace and love through the cross You bore for us. For @MaryV I pray the relief of perspective and the effusion of the Holy Spirit, that she find peace and joy. Mother Mary, you know what it was like to bear all for the love of God. Please assist us bearing our pains and anxieties, to lay them at the feet of your loving Son.

We don’t have to change for him to love us.
Is this true?

I used to love this prayer called “The Gospel Prayer” by JD Greear. It goes

"In Christ, there is nothing I can do that would make You love me more, and nothing I have done that makes You love me less.
Your presence and approval are all I need for everlasting joy.
As You have been to me, so I will be to others.
As I pray, I’ll measure Your compassion by the cross and Your power by the resurrection."

He believes that we are all saved by grace alone, so I stopped reading his book “Gospel” and praying that prayer after deciding to become Catholic. My view of God and how He feels about me has changed since accepting Catholicism, so I don’t necessarily feel that God is as loving as I used to. Thinking about his book again, I realize that he may also have Religious OCD. He talks in the book about how he would feel like he always had to do more for God and that everything he had done wasn’t enough, that he needed to be able to check off that he did certain spiritual things every week, and started to resent God and feel that God hated him for his inability to be perfect. I could relate a lot to the things he wrote in his book, so it gave me comfort; but now I don’t pray the prayer because I don’t think the first part is true. I think I can do things that would make God love me more or less.

God loves you infinitely because He is infinite Love itself. So that is why people say He cannot love you more or less. It is God’s nature to love because He is Love. This is a metaphysical fact in Catholic theology. Does that mean that everything we do pleases him? Of course not. If we sin that does not please Him. And can we please him even more? Yes, through grace, through our works done in grace.

If you ever doubt God’s love for you consider the mass reading this coming 3rd Sunday of Lent, where Paul talks about how Christ died for us while we were sinners. I was listening to Catholic scholar Brant Pitre talk about this and how a church father gave a homily on this and said if God loved us that much that He would endure the suffering of the Cross for us when we were cut off from Him in our sins, would He now love us any less now that we have been baptized into Christ and are put into a state of grace? Of course not. He died for you knowing full well that you would sin. He did it to save you and bring you into a relationship with Himself. He did this because He loves you. Remember the Cross and see how much He loves you. More than you can comprehend. So never doubt his love for you. He died for you knowing all your sins and bearing them himself, so that you can be forgiven and brought into a loving relationship with him and your neighbour.

As far as the grace alone thing you mentioned, in Catholicism we believe we are saved by Grace from start to finish (we are not pelegians). So that no one can boast in themselves. Even the good works we do are by God’s grace. Even our desire to do good, to pray, or to love God or our neighbour come from God’s grace. Yet, God does not force himself on us but gives us free will to cooperate with or reject his grace.

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (Phil 1:6)
