In thanksgiving, that the couple has chosen to postpone engagement to honor their parents’ wishes in order to allow more time for discernment, RCIA, and finishing their education.
In thanksgiving that this “crisis” opened the lines of communication to bring family into the discernment process.
That the parents would be open to God’s will and timing, and be able to enjoy when it arrives an exciting time for their children despite their reservations.
