I’m asking for prayers for my dad, who goes into a major surgery today 12/17. It is pretty serious and is to make up for surgeries done wrong the first time. Thank you!

Praying that the Lord will guide the surgeon’s hand, bless him and all who assist in the surgery. Lord, I pray that you will bring Max’s dad safely through the surgery without any complications and that he will recover quickly… in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Mother Mary please pray for him.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Thank you ALL so much for the prayers!!

Believe it or not I am wireless at the hospital right now. The surgery is still going on! Was scheduled for about 6 hours, but will probably be 10 hours. One doc, the colo-rectal guy came out about a half hour ago to tell us that, although it was a total mess in there, today’s surgery has gone very well. It would take pages to explain how messed up things were going in.

Meanwhile, the plastic surgeon is spending an hour or two taking skin and muscle from one place and rebuilding things in another place.

Thank God for you and your prayers, and for these bright and talented surgeons!

More as things develop.

Praise the Lord! God is good! I am still praying for him, Max.

WOW! You guys are something!

Yesterday at this time, I was preparing myself for the worst. In my heart, unspoken to anyone, I had figured it was a 50-50 chance he would die. By the end of the day, after 10+ hours of surgery, which was very complicated but went very well, the surgeon thought he would try removing him from the respirator to see how well he could breath on his own. He did fine! So they took him to the recovery room, and used a cup-like appliance forcing oxygen up towards his mouth, to get him to breathe through his mouth. His 02 stats were in the 90%'s. They let us in recovery since we had been there waiting 12 hours or so…He was alert, awake, spoke to us, and held our hands. His grip seemed as good as it did BEFORE surgery! I was joking that he had enough color and alertness that he was doing better than me in the morning!😃 I’m 45 - he’s 78 and has undergone years of health problems. Soon the alarm was ringing, not for low 02 intake, but because he consistently kept hitting 100% oxygen. I joked with the nurses (since I have asthma) that he was breating better than me!

Got a text message from my sister this morning, he was awake and alert and was being moved from ICU to a regular room. I could not believe that - I had to read it a few times…A regular room? Of course they may move him in and out of ICU, but a regular room today?

I am truly overwhelmed. I know we had people praying for him all over the place, but, if you knew his whole story over the last 5 years, you would not believe this is the same man as that story!

Please don’t stop praying just yet! He’ll be in the hospital over Christmas, and has a long recovery ahead of him.

Thank you all:thumbsup:

Great news Max ! I know how it is with a sick parent, you live for the good reports! I will be praying for more great news to come. Prayer is an awsome thing. After posting my prayer request yesterday I got good news in a Christmas card. Thank you God for leading Max and I to this site. Keep us posted.
