I’m truly sorry for the spiritual troubles your father is experiencing. Sometimes the things of this world and our own desires can be allowed to overpower our faith and distract us from the eternal and perfect love of God, from whom all good things come. I pray that your father may come to see that the good he sees in life, particularly the feelings he has for the woman he is committing adultery with, may lead him to see the perfect goodness of Christ and thereby direct him to correct the imperfections in his own life and in the good he desires. I also pray that he may be led to repent of his sins, seeing the damage they do to his family and himself, and above all else the great sadness they cause Our Lord, who wishes only goodness and truth for him and does not deserve the offense of his transgressions. Finally, I pray for you, that you may be an example of faith and holiness to him, praying for him and leading him back to Christ the best way you can. I ask for the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, your and your father’s guardian angels, and Blesseds Louis and Zelie, parents of St. Therese of Lisieux, great examples of lifelong marital love and fidelity.
