Prayers for my journey

I wanted to give another update because we have lots of prayer requests and maybe we know or don’t know if our prayers are having effect.

Well we have been regulars at Mass for a while now; we’ve been very blessed to have chosen (seemingly out of the blue) a Church where they actually teach and preach the Catholic faith. In short we love going. I pray the Rosary nearly everyday, we both read the Magnificat to keep up to speed on the daily readings and my wife just bought Catholicism for Dummies without my prompting and she was googling about annulments because she was previously married (but it was your basic good ol’ Vegas wedding that didn’t last long so I don’t think the Church would even consider it a valid marriage).

Anyway, I’ve been asking St. Joseph for help and in general I think we’re moving in the right direction. I just need the courage to follow my convictions but I have to admit that family (i.e. parents) issues with Catholicism hold me back from talking about it openly and making the commitment to swim the Tiber. So, all prayers are greatly appreciated and helpful and obviously effective. I will offer my Rosaries for you all also.

John

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the Fruit of Thy Womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

John-
God bless you and keep you on your journey. No road is easy, but all roads lead to Rome, so it’s a tad bit better when you at least know where you’ll end up! It seems you are more “there” than you yet realize…

God lovesyou, knows what is in your heart and may He provide you with peace, kindness and love in your journey of discovery.

Hi John,

It looks like I am a little late seeing this thread, but I wanted you to know that I am smiling right now. You heard God’s call and acted on it. You felt Mary’s pull, and acted on it. You are brave, and I am so happy for you. You tell that wife of yours that she is fantastic too. What a great way to grow together, with Christ, in His Church!!! We are called by God to be open, humble, honest. loving, giving, understanding and forgiving, and it seems that you and your wife are these very things. Just keep up the good work. Thank you for sharing with us!!! I will say a prayer for your family.

Welcome, John.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
