My 17 year old niece’s father, my former brother-in-law, was in a car accident early Sunday Morning. His pickup truck crossed the line, hit a semi truck, overturned and he was ejected from the truck. The other driver was not injured. I do not yet know his condition, but he was life-flighted to the trauma center.

I ask for prayers that he will have a full recovery, and that his family will not have to suffer further hardship. Although the reasons for my sister’s divorce from him and the resulting declaration of nullity regarding their marriage would typically lead me to have less than charitable feelings towards this man, he has been part of our family one way or another, for 25 years and in many ways I still consider him a friend. My niece has recently had words with him. I pray that her last conversation with her father was not this one.

Thank you very much, both of you. I have a bit of an update. Pat is doing better than expected. The report right now is that he is out of ICU and has no internal injuries or broken bones, mostly, he escaped with bruises. I now am shifting my prayers to those for healing of the emotional rift between my sister, Pat, my niece, and my niece’s extended family. There seem to be much deeper issues that I pray the Lord will heal.

My prayer are with the entire family. May our Lord penetrate the relationships between these people and heal the rifts. Oh, my Jesus, send your healing power upon these children of Yours. Help them to set aside their differences and embrace what You have given them.

Praying…

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Praying for his health and complete recovery from any injuries and peace and consolation for all the families involved. Amen.
