I’m having LASIK tomorrow…please pray for the doctor who will be doing my surgery…let his hands be steady, and his judgement wise… 😃

Thanks!

Don’t worry. The surgeons rarely have to use their hands anymore. They plot the points for the laser in advance and then line it up. I had to get LASIK done in 2 separate procedures for each eye that were done 3 months apart. I had extremely bad astigmatism and nearsightedness. Everything went just fine.

They gave me a couple of “happy” pills before the procedure and put numbing drops in my eyes. I went in and laid in a sort of reclined dental chair. The worst thing was the clamp that held my eyelid open. I looked at the red dot and then the computer-guided blade made the incision to lift the corneal flap. It got blurry and I heard the pulsing of the laser. It was over in less than 5 minutes and the flap was let down. Yippee! Clear vision immediately!

I took one pain pill post op and then only over-the-counter for the rest of that day. The next day I returned to work with my handy sterile eye drops.

You and your surgeon have my prayers, but I’m sure you will be so happy that you will be offering prayers of thanksgiving afterward. I did a whole Holy Hour in thanksgiving for tossing my Coke bottle glasses forever.

Thankyou!!! As you can imagine, I’m sitting here mulling over the consent form and all that “could” go wrong…trying to remember how miserable I’ve been for 25yrs with glasses and contacts and on and on…I’m pretty easy, I think…-3.5 in both eyes, very slight astigmatism, good tearing, good corneal thickness…but it’s still dang scary!!! Thankyou for your reassurance!!:o
