Please pray for my pet, Bunny. She is very sick and I am going to have to put her to sleep tomorrow. She may be small, and some may think her strange, but she has given me just as much love as any dog or cat would ever give.

Anna, I am so sorry! My heart and prayers go with you tomorrow. :grouphug: Here is a prayer that my vet let me say before we put my kitty Peaches to sleep this past June.

Saying Goodbye to a Dying Pet

In the name of God the Father,
Who created you and all the animals;
in the name of Jesus the Son,
Who spoke of you in parables and stories; and
in the name of the Holy Spirit,
in Whom every creature lives, moves, and has their being,
go now in peace, dear friend.

May you find rest near refreshing waters,
may you lie in cool, green pastures,
and may you warm yourself under the sun that never sets.

You have been my constant companion,
my shadow and confidante,
my comfort and playmate.
You filled my days with life and brought me endless joy.
For this I give thanks to God Who gave you to me.

Now return to your Maker Who eagerly waits for you
as you waited for me at the end of each day.

In the Father’s arms, let there be no more pain.
Let there be no more suffering.
Let there be only light as it was on the day God created you.

For our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made Heaven and earth.
Blessed be the name of the Lord, now and forever. Amen.

Praying for your pet, Bunny, and for you.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Eternal Father, we bring you our grief in the loss of Bunny and ask for courage to bear it. We bring you our thanks for Bunny who lived among us and gave us freely of her love. We commit our friend and companion Bunny into your loving hands. Give us eyes to see how your love embraces all creatures and every living thing speaks to us of your love. Amen.

Praying for a peaceful death for your Bunny and that you will find another loving pet.

Praying for you and for Bunny. I’m so sorry you have to lose her.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.
