Prayers for my son's depression

My son Michael turns 24 today. He is on the autism spectrum and has given up on life. He is depressed, wants to sleep all day, either doesn’t go to class or gets there very late, and doesn’t do his assignments. He is already on probation and will be academically dismissed if he doesn’t start doing his work. He already took a semester off and it was his choice to go back and take only 2 classes. Medication is not working. He feels depressed and lonely and has no friends. He sees everyone with jobs and friends and feels left out.

Please pray that his depression is lifted and he starts to be successful in school, goes on time and does his assignments on time,that his medication starts working, and that he finds a good person to be his friend.

I’m sorry to hear that. I will pray for him. I pray that God strengthens Michael; mentally and socially. I pray that God also makes the medicine work, so as to grant him relief. Amen.

Prayer of St. Dymphna

Lord, our God, You graciously chose St. Dymphna as
patroness of those afflicted with mental, emotional, and
nervous disorders. She is thus an inspiration and a symbol
of charity to the thousands who ask her intercession.

Please grant, Lord, through the prayers of this pure,
youthful martyr, relief, and consolation to all suffering
such trials – especially Michael, who suffers from
depression.

We beg You, Lord, to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna
on our behalf. Grant all those for whom we pray patience
in their sufferings and resignation to Your divine will.
Please fill them with hope, and grant them the relief and
cure they so desire. We ask this through Christ our Lord,
who suffered agony in the garden. Amen.
