Prayers for Police

Last Friday night, a local police officer, P.J., was killed by a drunk driver on his way home from a charity golf tournament. He was on his motorcycle, and his wife was following behind him in the car. He was hit by a driver who was drunk and had an open container of alcohol in the car. He was thrown over 60 feet and it took his wife and several witnesses many minutes to even find his body. He leaves behind his wife and two young children, as well as all of his brothers and sisters on the force.

While on the scene of the accident, another officer was called off of the scene because his 16 year old son had been killed in a car accident that night as well. It has certainly been a tough week for the local police department.

Please pray for the repose of these two souls, all the grieving families and friends left behind, and for all of the men and women who work to protect our communities. Please also pray for safety on the roads and for drivers to behave responsibly.

you have nmy thoughts, and the prayers of a Chicago Police officer who just retired 2 days ago!!

You will never be alone in your thoughts or struggles. Many people are with you in spirit, and other ways.

Eternal rest grant unto the souls of Officer P.J. and the young man that was killed, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine on them. May they rest in peace.
