hi.
First of all, a few weeks ago, I posted about my personal involvement in this issue in the Prayer Intentions forum, and would like to thank all who replied for their prayers.
Anyhoo,
I was pushed over the edge to a nervous breakdown in large part due to the activities of a very dishonest person.
He was my Business Practices instructor in massage school. He was a very poor teacher, and basically used his position as a teacher to lure students in to rent rooms in his failing massage establishment.
He would state that the business was thriving, that people would be able to make a living because he provided all the advertising and marketing, but once they had given him the first rent check, he would tell them that they needed to do their own advertising. The clientele he promised was simply not there, neither was the promised advertising.
A big part of what led to my final breakdown was catching him in three verifiable lies, plus two statements that didn’t pass the “smell test” in the space of a phone conversation that lasted less than five minutes. If you confronted him with his lies, and the fact that the business had no business, he would dismiss you as " being negative" and threaten you with eviction from your massage room.
I also have it from a reliable source that not only is he dishonest in business, but is also unfaithful to his wife. He claims to have an “understanding” with her, but judging from the information, the understanding is that his wife understands that he is a dog and there is nothing she can do to change it.
He is an avid worshipper of Ayn Rand, knows who John Galt is, but doesn’t seem to have a grasp of the idea that you have to be honest in business, even if it’s OK to cheat on your wife and use your mistress as a whore.
I’ve been devoting a decade of the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy to his case, but I feel that I need to devote more time and prayer to effect his conversion.
In addition, I’m also dealing with my own personal feelings of betrayal and vindictiveness towards him, because I feel that he used his position as my teacher to trap me, his student into a position of being able to use my labor to make money when I had no viable chance of making a decent living for myself working in his establishment. (He claimed to my coworkers that he didn’t know me prior to my coming to work in his business, even though, in my naivetee, I had reserved my room in his business months before I had even completed my education and had been in continual contact with him.)
My mother thinks he may be suffering from bipolar disorder (he opens new locations " growing" his business, even though the older locations are not financially viable.) I think that, based on the fact that I have not had a single conversation with him in which he has not told me at least one lie, that he is simply a dishonest sack of excrement.
Anyhoo, does anyone know of a prayer or devotion that I can use to not only effect his conversion, but also overcome my own feelings of anger and betrayal toward him?
Ideally, I would like to see him become a Catholic, but I would settle for Observant Jew (he is an atheist, but comes from a Jewish family).
Mostly, I want to see him learn to deal honestly with the people he does business with, and whose labor he makes his money from, and become faithful to his lojngsuffering wife. There is also a son involved, who is getting a warped pereption of what it means to be a man, husband, father, and businessperson.
Any suggestions?
