Prayers for the radical kinship necessary

My heart weeps for those affected in urban environments where lawlessness rules. I pray for those whose lives are so assaulted by crime and drugs that they cannot find hope or help. St. Francis, you lived with the most poor in all consuming compassion and Even fearlessly even brought Jesus’ name and love to the leaders of Muslim invaders in wars that pit opposing beliefs. With Father Greg Doyle, author of Barking at the Choir, I would ask for radial kinship with those seeking a better way of life and also for St. Francis’ courage to shine the light of love upon those who seek to exploit the downtrodden for harmful purposes. Lord, may we listen to Your call and act in Your purposes for Your creation.
 
Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Father may we all live in a peaceful world. May the people that are evil and want to see countries torn apart find no strength and we move back to what is right again. May we walk strong in Christ as nations of this world. In your name, Jesus amen!
