I just cannot help but keep on praying, as I have for years, for all those who have suffered or are suffering under or because of the Castro brothers. The couples who find themselves without hope and have abortions because they do not want to bring a child into that calamity. One woman was able to go to the U.S.A., and a medical doctor who tended to her said that when she took the medical history, the woman had been through 18 abortions. That is not a typo!
For those who suffered or are suffering because of Castro, the Che . . , Batista, and each of the other dictators, tyrants of the world. May each who was or is harmed be healed from the actual pain or the pain of those who love the pained person (it can be difficulty seeing a loved one’s pain). May the ability to forgive bring each healing, peace and true liberation.
The prayer of thanksgiving because through the Castro brothers and the others some of the victims became stronger in their persecuted Faith (by any name, their Faith), martyrs, heroes and others became heroes helping the afflicted.
When forgiveness is difficult
In Jesus’ Name, Father,
help me to recover where injury goes beyond ordinary forgiveness and my heart is in some way crushed, and my life changed and devalued.
Help me to find a way to forgive when I cannot smile or encounter or remember the offending person with warmth because they have destroyed something in me.
Father please help me to forgive when I cannot forgive…and I cannot forgive because they do not understand how badly they have hurt me, and do not seek in any real way to acknowledge or try to heal the hurt they imposed on me. And even if I try to tell them from the bottom of my heart but they will not listen, please help me to forgive.
Father help me to forgive when those who hurt my whole life do not even remember how badly they have wounded me, and continue their lives without concern, while I remain still trapped in some kind of time capsule with the consequences of their unfeeling and uncaring and attack.
Father, help me to forgive when those who wounded me by ignoring my needs and requests, yet who desire me to ignore their offense, and expect me to respond to their hints or manipulations while they make no concessions or apologies.
Help me to forgive those who impose their own conditions and rules upon me when I am unable to defend or protect myself, without respecting that my hurt is real and radical, while they make me feel that they only desire my capitulation without justice, apology, or generosity from them.
Help me to forgive where, in my life, I have humbly given apology for my own offense and the response is silence and rejection.
Help me to forgive and heal when I am obsessed and oppressed by my resentment and hurt.
Father please free us, free me, in forgiveness and healing that comes from Your Son, innocent, and murdered, but forgiving.
Apology and Thanksgiving Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Creator of all and source of all goodness and love,
please look kindly upon us,
as we ask for forgiveness for not giving You thanks.
Please receive our heartfelt apology for the lack of gratitude.
Remind us at all times that You are always worthy of our thanks.
Thank You, Heavenly Father,
for all the graces and blessings
You have bestowed upon us:
our faith and religious heritage;
the Priests who bring us the Sacraments;
our life, food and shelter;
our health, the love we have for one another;
our Police Officers and Firefighters who keep us safe;
our Soldiers and Veterans who fight and fought for our Country;
our family and friends.
Thank You for the people You so generously send us;
…everything You grant us
…and of which we are not even aware.
Dear Father, in Your infinite generosity, please grant us the grace of having
…less “give me” and more gratitude throughout the coming
…years so that we may be aware that anything from You is good
…for You turn the “bad” into blessings for us.
Please Lord, grant us the grace of not forgetting that we can thank You
…over and over again for the same gift – and if we
