Hello friends, I’d like to ask for prayers for my wife, our yet-to-be-born child, and our three daughters. While we are joyful, we’re also worried because we’re in our early 40s, my wife had a uterine rupture when our youngest was born, and she had a miscarriage when our youngest was two. Her OB did not say she was at higher risk because of the rupture, though her age alone makes this high-risk, and did say any further children would be delivered via C-section.

On that note, I’d love to hear from moms and dads who had healthy babies after 40. We as Church build one another up, 1 Thess 5:11.

Because of these risks, we don’t plan on telling anyone before the second trimester starts (she’s 8 weeks now); also, we expect concern and even scorn from our parents and extended family, and we’re just not ready for that yet. We do know, thankfully, that many of the clothes, toys and furniture we handed down will be handed back to us, which takes some of the overwhelmingness out of it, and we have plenty of friends who would be willing to help (three of the couples we hang out with have 6 children each)

Thanks, and may God smile on you.

Many congratulations. I am only 37, but my mom gave birth to me at age 43; aside from a bit of jaundice from Rh incompatibility (nothing to do with age), I was fine. Mom wasn’t exactly the pinnacle of health herself, being obese and anemic, but she did pretty well herself.

Let's Pray a Perpetual Rosary Spirituality
for @losh14, his wife, their yet-to-be-born child, and their three daughters (Prayers for welcoming a surprise rainbow baby) HAIL MARY, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen 7th Hail Mary ~ Glorious 4

Sorry, it’s sadly a pretty common term in our group of friends and extended group. A lot of the parents in our parish school “have footprints on our hearts” as we say. The rainbow baby tells us that the storms of infertility and miscarriage are over.

Thanks for the prayers.

Prayers for a healthy baby and mother. Peace and blessings on your family.

Echoing these sentiments. Praying for a safe delivery, and a healthy baby!

Thanks, my friends. I’m sitting here next to my wife as she dozes. She’s hungry and nauseous. I think this is another way to move us towards sainthood, suffering together and being hopeful together.

I just wanted to share an update. The morning sickness has subsided to some extent. It’s nice to have my wife feeling better at night. We have a few more weeks until our next check-up. Thanks for your prayers. We’ll include the special intentions of all on this thread in our prayers as well.
