Does anyone know of some nice prayers…I found this one which I liked very much
OH, my Lord and Saviour, support me in that hour in the strong arms of Thy Sacraments, and by the fresh fragrance of Thy consolations. Let the absolving words be said over me, and the holy oil sign and seal me, and Thy own Body be my food, and Thy Blood my sprinkling; and let my sweet Mother, Mary, breathe on me, and my Angel whisper peace to me, and my glorious Saints … smile upon me; that in them all, and through them all, I may receive the gift of perseverance, and die, as I desire to live, in Thy faith, in Thy Church, in Thy service, and in Thy love. Amen.
only it is for, and closely connected to, the hour of death. But something along these lines with hope, peace, etc. mention of the BV Mary and the angels and saints (if possible). Something for someone to meditate on perhaps regards enfolding in the Sacred Heart or refuge in the cross…along those lines.

I find this one very comforting when in need of hope, and not too long to commit to memory.

Ever Virgin Holy Mary, Mother of the True God

To you do we turn,
Our Heavenly Mother of sweetest love and tender compassion,
in this and every graceful moment
that passes under your protection and care.
Pray for us your beloved children,
oh Help of Christians,
that the light of your Son Jesus
which so purely flows through your Immaculate Heart
will illuminate our lives
and vanquish all darkness in our midst.
Oh Spouse of The Most High,
pray the Father to have mercy upon our land
that we might not received what we deserve
but rather what we need.
Merciful Mother by the aid of your most holy angels
direct our ways into your shelter;
into your health;
safe within your loving bosom;
into a renewed and united revelation
of God’s inifinite and everlasting love through Jesus Christ.

Amen.

i said this prayer some three months ago while in a heavy head ach.
Father I don’t know what is happening to my body but I know that You do and so I give it to You, I love You Lord.
I went to the Doctor, he told me that “I should be dead or have had a stroke” I asked him why, he told me "Your blood pressure is 184 over 114.
At the time he told me that I had a vision in my minds eye. The prayer I have mentioned was related back to me and I realised that God had taken the stroke or death away from me. Such a simple prayer but so taken in by our God, praise Him.

God bless
