Hello. This is my first post to the Catholic Answers forums, though I read them quite a bit. I have learned a lot here, so thank you all.

Three years ago I lost my employment when my place of work closed it’s doors. I live in a location where full time work is hard to come by and have been looking for employment ever since. Thankfully, over the last three years God has provided me with a successful in home business which has allowed us to continue to meet all of our financial obligations. Unfortunately, due to the stressful nature of my business (child care) and personal issues (years of infertility, with a recent decision to forgo treatment and adoption and remain childless) my work is very difficult on an emotional level and I am burnt out. I no longer feel that I am the best care provider I can be, and feel it is necessary for my health to move to a different line of work.

I have been praying for new employment and have had several interviews but no offers. I have an interview tomorrow at a Catholic college for a position that I feel would be a good fit. I am looking for prayers that, if this is the job God wants me to be in, that he give me the words for the interview and that he move the interviewers to offer the position to me… and that of course all of the other candidates find the employment of their dreams elsewhere! 🙂

And finally, for strength to keep looking if this is not the one.

I would appreciate any prayers you can offer. Thank you.

St Joseph, please pray for Girlio in employment seeking efforts.

Our Father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
Amen.

May God bless you in your search for employment with suitable, enjoyable work that meets your financial needs.

We pray for all those searching for employment for strength to continue on until work is found.

Mary.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Prayer for Employment
You govern your creation, O God,
and bring it to perfection by the work of our hands.
Hear the prayers of your people who ask for work
that will enhance their human dignity
and promote the upbuilding of your kingdom.
Enable them to provide for those confided to their care
either by family ties or by charity we owe to one another
for the betterment of human life.
We ask this blessing in the name of Jesus
who laboured with his own hands while he lived on earth.

Amen.

May God bless you during your interview, and may God inspire your interviewer(s) to recognize you value as their future employee.

Holy Spirit please inspire the right employer with a keen, responsive interest in accepting Girlio as the most suitable applicant.

Jesus, in Your early life you needed Joseph to find work in order to support You and Your Mother. Understanding, as You do, our earthly needs, please grant that our prayers that Girlio’s interview will result in interviews and a suitable job offer.

Mother Mary you experienced difficulties associated with family income and support.
When you and Joseph were espoused, he had established work, but then, when you were close to the point of delivering your Child, legal requirements forced you and Joseph to relocate to Bethlehem, where family income was uncertain and you couldn’t even find decent accommodation. Following this, due to official intent to murder your Child, you and Joseph fled to Egypt, where amongst strangers, amid language difficulties, Joseph had to find work to support the family. Later, when the murderous king had died, once again you and Joseph relocated, to Nazareth, where he once again had to find enough work to support your family, in a different part of the country than you had previously lived, so once again you were among strangers and had no network of support.

Thus, Mary, you and Joseph, do know how hard it is to get by in this world, with the added stresses of modern life and personal difficulties.

Please will you both, good holy persons, intercede with Your Son for Girlio to quickly find reliable, suitable employment and income.
Please bless Girlio’s in all things temporal and spiritual.
Loving thanks to you, our heavenly family.

Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with there.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Prayer Before an Interview

God, I’m about to face a challenging interview for a new job. First, thank you for this opportunity. Thank you that you care about providing for my needs, and fitting me in the right employment situation is something you yourself are working to complete. I know I have you on my side in this matter. You are looking out for my best interest and I know you have a perfect job fit for me. If this is that perfect fit, then make it perfectly clear to me and to those who are making the hiring decision.

Begin now to prepare the time and place where we will meet. Set the tone in the room. I know that first impressions matter a great deal, so help me to be the natural “me” that you have created, so that they can see through my nervousness and anxiety to the person you have created me to be. Give me a peaceful and sharp mind. Bring to my memory all the knowledge and wisdom that is already there. Let your joy and contentment flow out through my words. And whatever the result, let this process be a blessing to those who review my case, and also to me and my family along the way.

Lord, right now I receive your peace. I trust you to work in and through this interview process. I trust you to provide for all my needs. And if this is your perfect fit, then let nothing stand in the way. If it is not right, then close the door and lead me quickly to the right next step. In your name I bless those who will be conducting this interview. Give them wisdom, peace and rest as well. I receive now, ahead of time, your promise – ” I will never leave you or forsake you!” I believe this and oh, do I need it. I don’t go into this interview alone. You are with me. And with that confidence, I am at peace. Help me now to feel that peace. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Praying for you and everyone who seeks employment.

Memorare

REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

May God’s will be done. I will be thinking and praying for you.
