I’m 17, and have struggled with porn and masturbation. There was a long period of time this past spring where I was clean for 50 days. But, that gradually broke, and now I’m struggling again. Please pray that I will regain the will to resist this evil. I’ve never faced a greater battle, please also pray for the thousands, perhaps millions of others who struggle with this all too common sin. Thanks, and God Bless.

Start with eliminating porn. In my day, I took my stash and burned it. For you, it might be as simple as a delete key and a net nanny and adding your former favorites to a list of blocked sites.

In this kind of prayer, humility goes a long way. Ask to be rebuked. Ask to be humbled. It is a tremendous gift to say to the Lord - “let me be as You wish me to be, not as I think I am.”

As I pray for my own purity tonight, I"ll pray for yours:

“Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son of the Living Father, have mercy on me, a sinner.
Against the darkness be my light.
Against the tempter, grant me authority.
Against temptation, grant me victory.
Against sloth, hasten me and grant me urgency.
Against lust, break my heart and grant me a clean conscience.
Against arrogance, be the rod at my back and humble me.
Against wickedness, rebuke me and grant me fear of Thee.
Against greed, grant me contentment with what Thou givest me.
Against envy, remind me that my treasure is in Heaven.
Against blasphemy, silence my tongue.
Against heresy, draw the scales from my eyes.
Against all things the world offers, remind me of my home and my calling.
Amen.”
 
I am heartily sorry for all my sins, because I fear Your just punishment, but especially because they offend Thee, My Lord, Who are all perfect and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your Grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.

Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance, direction, strength & fortitude for you to overcome your temptations.
 
Patriot, my prayers are with you. I know what it is like to want to stop a behavior and not be able to. It is frustrating and self-defeating. May God give you victory over this. You are a wise young man to want to get control over this now. Your future self and your future spouse will thank you.

A Prayer of Purity

My God, You have given me a body to keep pure and clean and healthy for Your service and my eternal happiness. Forgive me for all my unfaithfulness in this great responsibility. Forgive me for every mean use which I have made of Your gifts in thought, word or deed since my rebirth as Your own adopted child in Baptism and my registration as a soldier of Jesus on the day of my Confirmation. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and give me a steadfast will that I may be a strength to others around me. Teach me to respect my body and the bodies of my fellow creatures. Help me to see the glory of perfect manhood In Jesus Christ and of perfect womanhood in Mary Immaculate. Inspire me with such love for the ideals for which our Savior lived and died that all my passions and energies will be caught up into the enthusiasm of His service, and evil things will lose their power. May my body be the servant of my soul, and may both body and soul be Your servants. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

I beg you to plead with God for me that I may never for the remainder of my life soil my soul by any sin of impurity. I earnestly wish to be pure in thought, word and deed in imitation of your own holy purity. Obtain for me a deep sense of modesty, which will be reflected in my external conduct. Protect my eyes, the windows of my soul, from anything that might dim the luster of a heart that must mirror only Christ-like purity. And when the “Bread of Angels” becomes my food in Holy Communion, seal my heart forever against the suggestions of sinful pleasures. Finally, may I be among the number of those of whom Jesus spoke, “Blessed are the pure of heart for they shall see God.” Amen.
