Hello everybody,

I had a question regarding the adoration of the Sacred Wounds. I have read some sentences and it is written for example: “I adore the Most Sacred Wound of Thy Right Hand”.

I wanted to know if it was correct to adore the Wounds of Jesus. Shouldn’t we adore Jesus and “only” venerate his Wounds?

Thank you in advance and God bless you all on this Good Friday,

Brieuc

It’s really splitting hairs, but I have to think that it is theologically appropriate to worship any “part” of what Jesus is — we do worship His Sacred Heart, and those Wounds That accomplished our salvation are forever part of Him as well. He chose not to heal These once He was resurrected. In the resurrection, body and soul become one and are no longer capable of being separated.
