Last month I finished a 54 day rosary novena for an intention but at the end of the 54 days I was not granted the request I asked for.

At the time I assumed that the reason for this was because Mary would not grant me something that was against God’s will. However, recently I have been longing for this same thing and felt myself being called to try the 54 day novena again for the exact same intention. My original novena was done every single day however at certain times during my novena I fell into mortal sin and went days without going to confession. Could I have not done the novena properly and not completed my part in asking for our mothers intercession?

I want to try again to stay in a state of grace for the entire 54 days so that my prayer has validity and our mother can better hear my cries for assistance. Am I just blatantly going against God’s will. Am I disrespecting Mary by not accepting her “No”?

Thank you for your help!

Of course you can try again. The answer may have been “not yet,” instead of no. Do strive to stay in a state of grace whether you get the outcome you request or not. And remember that no prayer is ever wasted.

Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen
