As part of my special prayers for Lent, I am praying for my enemies. I pray for those who have hurt me in some fashion. Jesus taught that we should love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us.
Please join me in prayer today. The following are some passages from the Bible the tell us to forgive those who are our enemies.
Matthew 5:44
But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
Luke 6:27
But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you.
1 Peter 3:9
Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.
Romans 12:4
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
Mark 11:25-26
And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
