Praying for winning a match

I don’t think there’s anything intrinsically wrong with praying that you/your team wins. I think God might use the prayer in a way that you don’t expect or don’t understand. I know from playing high school football that both teams probably prayed for God’s help, but every game didn’t end in a tie.
