Hello everyone an idea just struck me that praying the Hail Mary while washing my hands is a great way of incorporating spiritual things into our ordinary tasks. I pray 2 Hail Marys while washing my hands it takes me around 25 seconds and while rinsing it helps me to remember that Jesus can cleanse me from my sins. Just wanted to share that and maybe you can put this into practice as well 🙂

Very nice. Praying while doing mindless task, chores, etc makes things better

Aves is a very common time measure. Pause for an Ave, Cleanse your hands for two Aves, etc.

My Mother in Law offered the man who comes around to help her with yard work something to eat. He was washing his hands outside, and after a long wait she called out to him. He had misunderstood the Health Ministry’s recommendation, and was washing his hands for 20 minutes. Two Aves would have been a simpler instruction.

In elementary school (many years ago!) we were taught to say the Our Father while we washed our hands. 🙂

When waiting in a long line at the supermarket, I often try to turn a negative and aggravating situation into a positive by praying part or all of the rosary.

This was recommended in a virtual retreat I participated in a couple months ago; it’s the ideal strategy to get the timing down. 1 Hail Mary for an end to the pandemic; 1 Hail Mary for those afflicted by it.

These are such good ideas! Thank you for posting them!

I am doing them.

I work in health care. I have been doing this for years. One Hail Mary is about 20 seconds for me, so I usually add a Glory Be also.
