Could one of the theological experts, priest etc. explain how to pray in spirit and in truth. I know that God is a spirit. Are the saints spriits too or have they received a body, not not the glorified body they will receive in the end? Is there a technique for praying in spirit and truth.?

If you’re looking for an answer from only a theological expert or priest, you might be better off posting this in the “Ask an Apologist Thread.” Not many of those types hang out here; but if you would settle for answers from a lot of otherwise knowledgable people, let us know.

DITTO! What is your definition of “an expert”? There is more than one.

Praying “in the spirit” seems to me to be a Pentacostal phrase. I dont see it in the CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.

GASP!! It IS in the bible.

John 4:24: "God is a spirit; and they that adore him, must adore him in spirit and in truth."

To pray in the spirit, is to worship in the spirit. But of course, since I’m a Charismatic, it is our worship that also worships God in spirit and in truth.

But even though I think it does have some allusions to the glorious Mass, I am no expert, and I will leave this to the actual experts!

It means to pray from our heart and mean eveything we say in our prayer.
