Praying the Hail Mary a little bit differently?

Oh please people. Enough with the Latin pushing already. The thread is not about what language is better to say the Hail Mary.

I THINK what the poster meant was that the Latin didn’t have the English word “you” in it.

While that may have been a big hint that said poster prefers Latin, it also could be a simple, "if changing from thee to you, or you to thee, is jarring to you, then maybe learning the Latin might not have that ‘jarring’ impact to you.

I’d like to do this because You is the more formal pronoun of the second person singular,

However God called is “You” and many times even “you”, to emphasize the friendship Christ showed to us. I don’t think it would be inappropriate to call Virgin Mary “you”.
I have seen the Rosary on apps having “your womb” instead of “thy womb”. I think “thy” is more to keep things traditional, ol’ time English, than anything else. Some people like it that way, because you get a sense of ongoing tradition by using old forms of the language.

I am very much in favor of using the current vernacular. I will pray in a group setting with whatever words are used, but by myself, I will use “you” instead of “thou.” My wish is that the Our Father at Mass would also use a version without all the “thy” usages. Keeping the language of prayers accessible to the population at large is important and removes potential barriers to understanding and conversion.
