When praying to god for help with something do we have to be clear and specific

God knows your every thought. He understands your innermost heart better than you do. Sometimes, a loving glance is the only prayer required. So, no, you don’t have to.

However, I’ve found it better for me to explain everything. It helps me to see things from a clearer perspective and understand exactly what it is I’m asking for. Sometimes, listening to myself has helped me realize when I’m being selfish or making a mountain out of a molehill.

Pray first for his whole right way and for His Will, not if it is your Will, for 6 months and pray directly to God and Jesus only to be heard directly and draw nearer to Him. Be short and direct, not repetitive, and start each prayer giving thanks for all known and unknown things He has done for one…Remember God wants to hear from you and takes joy in doing so, so don’t pray to saints, etc. Many blessings

Clearly not a Catholic point of view.
