How effective is praying with a bible verse? Please share your experience.

“He sent out His word and healed them, and delivered them from destruction.” (Psalm 107:20)
 
Praying with the Psalms, in PARTICULAR, is a long standing tradition int he Church. Look into raying the Liturgy of the Hours daily (LOTH) will millions worldwide.
There are lots of good app for this, including iBreviary.
 
I heard on retreats - where silence is mandatory - for say 30 days
I hear the spiritual leader - gives a person a scripture - to meditate upon -
Me, I find a not often quoted scripture - that I personally may need - or just jumps out at me -
Psalms is LOADED with many such great verses -
and I’ll say it like a mantra - over and over -
I’ll even write it on a index card too -
Maybe mantra - is a form of prayer 😃
 
Don’t forget the Angelus with the amazing words from Luke 1.
 
Yes, Praying with a verse is very powerful, because Jesus is the Word of God, especially when done with simple Faith like a child.

Wisdom 16:12 For neither herb nor poultice cured them,
but it was your word, O Lord, that heals all people.
