Hello, Im looking for any books written or about the Catholic faith prior to Vatican II. I’m open to all topics. Can anyone recommend any good ones? Thanks.

A few links to books regarding the Liturgy in the public domain;

A book Pope Benedict XVI was inspired by prior to him writing a book by the same name.

Spirit of the Liturgy Romano Guardini (translated by Ada Lane)

Fr. Joseph Andreas Jungmann’s: The Mass of the Roman Rite: its origins and development.

Look for books by Dom Prosper Gueranger, Cardinal John Henry Newman, and Archbishop Fulton Sheen.

I’m reading the “Imitation of Christ” by Thomas A’ Kempis. Then there is the Summa by St. Thomas Aquinas. and : Meditaions for Lent" by Jacques Benigne Bossuet. and don’t forget the “Passion and Death of Jesus Christ” by St. Alphonsus De Liguori.

That should keep you busy for a while. 🙂

God Bless
