I imagine that a celiac (who could not receive even a low gluten Host) couldgain permission to receive from the chalice from the Ordinary. The best method of reception though would probably be the spoon as seen in eastern parishes so that the Chalice does not need to be touched by a layman. the other option is a “no gluten Host” (though they are not valid matter for consercration) that a celiac may be able to consume which may then be aceptable for a form of initction, or maybe something else which could convey the sacred species reverently, this cant be a new problem, I am sure there is guidance somewhere.

If extremely small particles are not a problem for a celiac a miniscule portion of the Host could be used, possibly a fragment so small as to be almost invisible.

The times when lay people do receive from the chalice, they do get to touch the chalice anyway. So why would this be any different. And even in the Eastern Rites, those who receive can reverence the chalice by kissing it. Its not like lay people are totally forbidden to touch the Sacred Vessels.

The EF servers now move the Chalice (with its coverings) to and from the Altar. Not everywhere though. And even before Vatican II, the nuns were always moving the chalices, ciboria and (unconsecrated) hosts around in the sacristy, like it was the kitchen or something.

Is it possible to receive the precious Blood during the EF?

Many things are possible. FWIW though, the formula for its reception (if you’re lucky enough to find a priest who will set aside some Precious Blood for the occasion) is Sanguis Domini nostri Jesu Christi custodiat animam tuam in vitam aeternum. (Translated as “May the Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ keep/preserve your soul unto life everlasting.”)

Do you think that God’s intentional will is ever for Catholics to receive Him in more than just one Rite?

I know that most traditionalists prefer the EF over the OF–do any of them like to attend other Rites? Do you ever enjoy attending a Mass in a form other than the EF?

I sometimes wish there was a forum about all the Western Latin rites–I’ve never been to an Ambrosian rite mass or a Mozarbic rite mass or an Anglican Use mass but I’d like to.

Can other Rites be traditional?

I have never been to a Mass in the extraordinary form, only the ordinary form. That said, I know there is really no difference but I do find it personally more spiritually fulfilling to receive both species.

well if you want to get technical they could be celebrated anywhere (at least the Ambrosian could) if the priest is qualified to do so and is incardinated in the relevent diocese to which that Rite belongs, at the very least as a private Mass.

I’m finding a lot of posters here who are attracted to the Maronite liturgy, including myself. But I’m drawn to it because of the ancient language and surrounding mystery behind it, not the intinction.
