This morning at liturgy our temporary priest (who is bi-ritual) dropped some of the precious blood on my daughters coat and its not a small amount. My questions is what do I do about it. I was told at one time they had a service that was done to such items but I have googled “how to clean precious blood from clothes” but didn’t get any answers so I’m hoping someone out there can help me out. This priest did not mean to drop the precious blood and was clearly shaken up by what happened.

Well, when I was a sacristan, we cleaned the purificators by soaking them in water until there were no more stains and the wine/blood had diffused into the water, then poured the water down the sacrarium and washed the purificators like normal laundry.

Maybe someone in the Liturgy and Sacraments forum would be able to help you more?

Soak the garment in a bowl of water (separately from all other clothes) for about a day.

Wring out the garment. If this is done at home, pour the water into the ground. If this is done at a church, pour the water into the sacraereum.

Then, launder the garment as usual.
