I hold a view of premillenialism, similar to that of St Irenaeus and Tertullian. I am not a dispensationalist (i.e. I do not believe there is a difference between the Church and Israel, as dispensationalist premillenialists do: I believe the Church is Israel, or the New Israel).

It has recently been brought to my attention that this is considered by some Catholics to be a heretical belief (insofar as some Catholics believe the Church teaches this is heresy), although I am not sure if they understand the distinction between dispensationalism and traditional premillenialism. I have been unable to find conclusive Magisterial ruling on this one way or the other.

Is this - traditional premillenialism - considered a heterodox, or heretical position? Is amillenialism the dogmatic teaching of the Church? If so, could you point me towards the correct documents?

The Church has rejected even modified forms of this falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism, especially the “intrinsically perverse” political form of a secular messianism. [CCC #676]
According to this Catholic Answers tract:
In the 1940s the Holy Office judged that premillennialism “cannot safely be taught”
The source is not cited. To my knowledge, this comprises the entire body of official Church teaching on the whole pre/mid/post trib, pre/post/amil topics. The Church simply has not taught about these things.
