I posted this in the apologetics forum by accident. Any help would be great. Thank you…

Please help. My wife and I have been married for almost nine years. We are very happy and feel that we have a great marriage. We do have one thing that has been bothering us. Prior to getting married in the catholic church, my wife to be came down with a medical problem that could have been life threatening. (She actually had a routine test that came back showing the potential for a problem. She was actually never diagnosed with a medical condition and thankfully never was.) At any rate, she was without insurance. We were more concerned about getting her in to see a good doctor, and not the one at the free clinic. Not knowing what to do, we went to Reno and were married in front of a non-denominational minister. I then added her to my medical insurance. We went about our lifes as normal, not making any changes in our current situation and not telling anyone about this. We were later married in the church. We did this because we both were scared and felt it was the best thing to do. We didn’t intend to hurt anyone, or to cover anything up in regards to the marriage itself. We are wondering, did we do anything wrong in the eyes of the church? If so, what do we need to do to make things right? We feel our hearts were in the right place but have often wondered if this is a problem. Thank you for any help you may offer.

Go to you parish priest and explain the situation. Sounds like you just married the same person twice? You might want to post this in the Ask an Apologist forum. My guess is if there is something wrong you can still go to confession. 😃

SpaceGhost agrees with wisdom 3:5… a sit down with a priest will get you the answers you seek… I hope everything worked out with the health, and looks like the rest will fall into line… quit sneaking around, that’s reserved for the SpaceGhost… 😃

I agree with the above posters, go speak to your priest I’m sure it will all be just fine and I hope everything has been fine for your wife, that sounds very scary and like you just really wanted to do best for her, that is beautiful.
Peace!
