Has anyone on here ever given a donation to the group Priests for Life and have suddenly started receiving several emails from a group called GOPUSA??? I have, and I don’t like it. The last thing I need is more spam in my mailbox. I know it’s them, because I’ve used two different email addresses for different times I’ve donated, and these emails come to both of them.
I really admire the work Fr. Frank does and I have heard him say on several occasions that he doesn’t support any political party; only the issues of Life.
I don’t even mind him publicly supporting Sen. Brownback either, as the guy is publicly rock solid on the most important life issues. But now I’ve been put on Brownback’s email list also!!!

I called Priests for Life and I’m waiting for a call back with an explanation.

I’d be irritated if that were the case. I’m disillusioned with the Republican party, and politics in general as of late.

I wondered how they got my email address that I don’t give out to just anyone. . .

I’ve been a member of the GOP since turning 18, but I never got spammed until last year. It was really irritating. Both state and national committees starting bombarding me with junk surveys that really asked for donations, etc.

Now I guess I’ll only give religious groups my “junk” email adress also. Too bad.

What’s the big deal. Here’s your opportunity to “offer up” to Jesus what you feel, either as penance for your sins or for the poor souls in Purgatory. :gopray: Anger is a sin you know. 😉

I agree with Della, just unsubscribe and if there’s no opportunity for that then just report the Email as spam. Don’t sweat it. It’s no big deal. 🙂

Do what I did several years ago (I guess this technique would work both ways) … I cut out some articles from that day’s newspaper which highlighted the actions and votes of certain Republicans at both the state and national level who were espousing positions that I would have expected from the Democrats, wrote across the survey in big block letters (using a Sharpie :D) something along the lines of “if these are the policies I wanted implemented I’d have voted for Democrat candidates”, and stapled everything together along with my “donation” (a check in the amount of $0.01)

Needless to say, I stopped getting surveys – and the check still hasn’t been cashed!

I don’t see what the problem is, really. Just unsubscribe.
My experience is “Unsubscribing” doesn’t work. I am a former Republican and I would be very annoyed if they received my info.

Doesn’t matter. Once they have your email address it’s over.

Spamkillers are wonderful things. I get about 100 emails a day, of which maybe 2 are worth reading. Spamkiller sorts it all out for me.

(The only problem being that the spamkiller is a real memory hog on my PC)

I wonder if you all would be as forgiving if it happend to you and it was from the Democrats, Green Peace, PETA, etc.

Spam is spam.
Whats wrong with PETA?? anyway, I’d just delete or unsubscribe…

As for the other websites I do visit some on occasion to see when the left sends out its action alerts…it prepares me for the deluge here:rolleyes:

Mosy places/groups you sign up with have an option to prevent you from having your email addy sent around. At the very least, they display their privacy policy. No one ever reads it, though.😃

Yep, I was off-line for a week and just logged on today. I had three emails from the Hilary Clinton campaign! I don’t know where they got my email address but I didn’t even bother trying to find out or to unsubscribe. I just opened up the filter and re-routed all their mail into the trash folder.

I’ve been a supporter of PFL for years and receive their eletters and other material, under a screen name and email address that I use only for pro-life work, and my info has never been given to any other organization, ever.
