I wish I could respond to that but I saw a letter in a local publication by a priest who criticised this.
I do not know what he is talking about. I remember a piece of news on the Catholic media a couple of weeks ago where it reported that there was an “inspection” of seminaries in the US and it was found that seminarians were not abiding by Catholic practices - one of them being daily rosary and Adoration I think.
Given that there are priests who are influenced by the secular culture and who have not been orthodox in their Catholicity and the abuses recorded in the media, one would expect that the Vatican would take a serious look seminaries and the calibre of priests. I am not sure what the screening of priests means but that could be it.
There have been people who have complained about the teaching in RCIA classes. We don’t know - there might be something there.
The letter referred to an “edict” and I thought I would investigate.
