For discussion:

Do you enter religion with some unwavering ideals or principles.?

Are your principles such that you have faith only because you have been presented proof the Church is always truthful, and you would reject all it’s precepts if it were untruthful in any way.?

How much is self preservation a motivator in your obedience to the Church’s doctrine.? ie: Would you believe anything your told to believe in order to prevent eternal torment? If so, would you consider that sincere?

Is everything you believe due to having been convinced in some way of it, or in part by being told you must believe it?
(including the Devine Mysteries.)

In matters pertaining to De Fide, do you feel coerced at times, or do you truthfully feel everything demanded of you is right and just.?

thanks for your post…wow…it indeed make one think about his/her faith…

Personally, i do read the bible and church documents and reflect on them…I think my faith has more to do with reason of why i must believe what i believe and honestly i dont question them

Interesting because it occured to me recently that if one is simply following the rule out of a selfish desire for a reward then their reasons are trully that, selfish. And I think this is the case for many people. They don’ dare think for themselves because doing so might lead them to disagree, and thus, to unpleasant circumstances. This, then, begs the question that we have free will at all. If the choice is agree with me and be rewarded or disagree with me and be punished, then that’s not much of a “free” choice is it? It’s more of a “play by my rules or you’ll be sorry”. It sounds like something of a set up, which is one of my major problems with Christianity.
