Pro-Abortion Arguments?

Was not sure which part of the forum I should post this, but, this seemed the most probable for this type of question. I am just wondering what is the Pro-Abortion argument? How are they able to defend the murder of 90 million unborn babies? They say that they are just blobs of cells, but, the doctor that is under trial for murdering babies that are older than the legal cut-off age. How can they have a cut-off age? Is the cut-off age when they start to resemble the look of born babies? They argue pro-choice, but, really anyone can murder their baby. 1 more question, if a person decides to do a self abortion, is it considered murder, or will they be pardoned? Self abortion not meaning birth-control pills. Birth-control pills cut off the nutrience to the fetus and essentially starves it. That is a form of abortion, but, not the type I am refering to.

I could formulate pro-choice arguments here and play devil’s advocate to the pro-life arguments, but I would rather not engage in anything so unpleasant.

I would speculate that as usual with this sort of thing the pro-abortion movement has an inner circle and an outer circle. The outer circle, by far the larger part at least in terms of humanity, really want to protect the health and rights of women and have been duped into thinking that abortion is essential to both, and that unborn children are simply not human beings at all and so not being deprived of any rights due to them. The inter circle that is really driving the movement simply hates human life and wants to promote death in any way it can. It would be naive not to recognize that this inner circle is not only, or even primarily, human.

It’s the whole pro choice euphemism, as you’ve mentioned. In saying someone is “pro choice,” it directs attention away from the baby and to the mother. Then, it sounds as though we are being fair and just by allowing the mother to have control over her body. It sounds nice, because you give someone a choice, right? What the euphemism does is basically gloss over the fact that there is really only one choice: Do I kill my baby, or do I let it live? And because we’ve completely ignored the baby with the euphemism, no one tends to think about the innocent baby who doesn’t get a choice.

A friend of mine once spoke to a woman about her unborn baby. This lady was considering abortion, and my friend said, “But you do realize that it’s a baby, right? It’s going to grow into a baby.”

The lady said in reply, “Yes, it will—if I let it.”

That’s the damage of the “pro choice” euphemism; they baby is not important. An innocent child is reduced to a group of cells and treated as a disease or an “issue” rather than a person.

I think we as Christians need to be more promoting of adoption and safe houses for unwed mothers. 64% of abortions are done because of coercion. That is no small number. If women are going to have a “right to choose,” we need to make sure they understand all their options. It’s not just raise the baby or abort; many choose abortion because they cannot afford a child or don’t want their kid to grow up not knowing their dad, who bailed when he found out she was pregnant. They don’t want to abort but feel it’s their only choice. We need to offer women safe houses, places to stay during their pregnancy where they will not fear violence from their boyfriends or being cut off by their families.

I think the whole idea of pro-choice is a way to avoid responsibility. It’s also partly the propaganda of abortion, that a baby is nothing but a blob of cells and is a nuisance if the mother does not want a baby. It is simple logic to avoid abortion: if you’re not willing to take responsibility to take care of a child, you should not have sex in the first place. Now, some people will argue this with “what if it’s a rape victim”. If it’s a rape victim, whats wrong with adoption? It’s not as if abortion is a painless procedure, it is, I believe, equal to birthing a child, but, instead of giving life, you’re destroying it. If some people are pro-choice to protect the rights and safety of women, well, you’re endangering someone whenever an abortion occurs. Abortion clinics are not exactly known for their cleanliness, or from what I’ve seen and heard. Seen and heard is another thing that pro-choice enthusiast’s are too ignorant to do. They refuse to see pictures and stories on what happen on the inside.
