Gravel is a former homosexual prostitute and one of Canada’s most vociferous opponents of Catholic teaching on homosexuality, marriage and the sanctity of life. His self-proclaimed goal in running for federal office is to “fight for justice.”
How the hell did this guy ever get ordained as a Catholic priest???

Pax vobiscum!

This priest needs to be excommunicated and defrocked. Did you guys catch what he was quoted as saying in an interview?
I am pro-choice and there is not a bishop on earth that will prevent me from receiving Communion, not even the Pope.
How can he not be excommunicated and defrocked by now???

In Christ,
Rand

Update. "The Diocese of Joliette has issued a press release after the mainstream media erroneously reported that the Vatican had given permission for a Catholic priest who supports abortion and homosexual ‘marriage’ to run for public office. "

Well, the claim that he had support from Rome was obvious to any faithful catholic, however, its good the press is admitting its error publicly.

I hope the admission bears fruit.

Thanks bones for that clarification. The other day people were taking shots at Benedict XVI for approving this without having the facts straight.

His tenure as a priest has not been low key, either. An outspoken advocate, Mr. Gravel has publicly decried the Roman Catholic Church’s position on same-sex marriage. He also received a disciplinary letter from Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger before he became Pope Benedict XVI.
Mr. Gravel was also one of 19 priests who created a tempest in February when they signed an open letter criticizing the church’s position on same-sex marriage and its opposition to ordaining gays.
“I would say that 50 per cent of the priests in Quebec are gay, but if I became a priest, it’s because I’m a believer and I believe in the message of Christ,” he said in an interview last year with Fugues, a gay magazine.

This character is nothing but a homosexual apologist parading as a Catholic priest. One could easily conclude that the devil has his claws deep into this guy.
