Pro-gay agenda is pervasive in the Corporate world

I just listened to a segment on the radio (Focus on the family) about the incredible pervasiveness of the pro-gay agenda in the corporate world. Something like 95% of the major corporations have instituted standard gay agenda issues as part of their human resource policies including domestic partnerships, adoptions by gays and general support of the lifestyle (i.e., celebrating Gay and lesbian months, etc). Some corporations are asking people to contribute to a cause to stop the anti-gay forces (in other words, the Catholic church, Focus on the family and other evangelical organizations) and the company will match a portion of their contributions (an example is Wells Fargo bank). The gay agenda has systemically invaded mainstream America and any dissention is automatically met with a cry of bigotry and hate speech. It’s getting increasingly scary out there!

I haven’t heard about matching donations to stop anti-gay groups, but my employer instituted domestic partner health care benefits starting this year, 2005. I believe the gay agenda is rather insidious because it attaches itself to innocent sounding policies. The Domestic partner health care could possibly be used for someone who has an ailing parent living with them.

Kids programming is also at risk. Strawberry Shortcake has a friend call Rainbow Sherbet. There is one story where Peppermint Fiz doesn’t like Rainbow because she is different. Rainbow dresses in a masculine manner and sails a boat. Dora the Explorer recently concluded an episode where all of her friends and family gathered for a party, and the music was “We are Family” by Sister Sledge. It is out there folks.

I also just read that a prominent gay and lesbian group is funding and sponsoring the PBS children’s show Buster - yes, the same one that caused some controversy awhile ago when they spotlighted a family in Vermont headed by lesbian women. The sponsorship just reaffirmed what most faithful Catholics and evangelicals had feared all along. I’m afraid that the insidious tactics are now becoming increasingly blatent and will continue to do so.

You bet it is!
One can not speak (1st amendment???) against immorality in any form now without being labled “a hater” or “a bigot”.
In my own family, I’m labled thus for argueing against abortion and the homosexual “lifestyle”.
Regardless, I will still speak up and accept the labels.
In my last job of 6 years, we were all required to take “diversity training” which was just a euphemism for embracing all the flagrant homosexuals in the company.
I quit. But I understand that that “diversity training” is now common among most companies.

Yes, diversity training is big at the organization that I now work. I think that in general, diversity training can be a good thing as long as it doesn’t cross the line into embracing things that are objectively immoral (like the gay lifestyle). I work with people who are developmentally disabled and I love my job but the diversity stuff has gone too far at my organization as well. Every year, a calendar comes out and June is always labeled as “Gay and Lesbian” month with a picture and profile of someone who’s gay at the company - I make sure that I don’t hang the calendar during that month. I’m pretty close to the vest about my beliefs and that can get frustrating when most companies are embracing these things now.

But isn’t that about gender stereotypes? I don’t think its related to homosexuality.

Okay, you totally lost me on that one. “We are Family” was played at my sister’s wedding. What is wrong with that song?

I have taken diversity training as well…but mine included issues such a disability, womens rights, race awareness, as well as gay rights.

Did your diversity training have this diversity? Or was it 110% gay? And if they did mention other types of awareness, don’t you think it significant the only issue you raised was the gay one?

Corporations support gay rights out of self-interest. When talent is needed you must make yourself attractive to employees who will give you good returns on investment.

Approximately 25% was sexual harrassment and fully 75% was gay related issues. There were no non-whites nor disabled employed at the company while I was there. This was 6 years ago so the agenda and ethnic make-up may have changed. I wouldn’t know.
I believed the gay issues to have been so prevalent because a LARGE percentage of the employees were openly and vocally gay and we had a very nervous HR department.
In answer to your question, no, I do not think it signifcant that I raised the gay issue in my comment, other than the fact that the title of this thread invited it pointedly.
I was there. You were not.

I had a Lesbian and a Catholic working for me about 10 year ago. I call the woman a lesbian only because the Catholic woman started complaining to me about her with many derogatory remarks. By the nature of our office and business, these two women had to work together. The Catholic woman, who knew I was Catholic kept coming to me and complaining that she just couldn’t work with her cause she was a sinner, blah blah. And how she could not accept her lifestyle…

Turns out that the Catholic woman overheard the Lesbian on the phone talking to her “partner”. And because the Lesbian always wore pants :bigyikes: … Catholic woman made several assumptions.

Fast forward to the 8th or 9th time Catholic woman complained, I finally told her she needed to apply for a transfer into another department. The Lesbian was doing nothing wrong. She kept to herself, she did a super fantastic job, and everyone else other the Catholic woman liked her. I pointed all of this out to Catholic woman, who proceeded to tell me how I was sinning because I had this “deviant” in the department. I wrote her up for that comment, and HR refused to consider her for a transfer until she completed a Diversity training class offered by the company.

She ended up quitting.

Indeed, that is why I asked questions rather than made statements (you can confirm this by counting the '?'s).

On my courses, which were given because of our customer facing roles, we dealt with a lot more than two minorities. Oddly, as a result of that training I was always given disabled and speech impaired customers.

It seems your company had special situation, but you have mistaken you ‘diversity’ training for real diversity training. Mine even had religious awareness built in.

That is always the problem with generalising from ones own experience.

You could be right, but I think this is how the pro-gay agenda begins breaking down the gay stereotype. It has to start somewhere.

I was under the impression “We are Family” was unofficially known as the Gay National Anthem. I guess I have seen The Bird Cage too many times.

Unless the Lesbian woman was flaunting her sexuality at work, or was making “passes” I see no reason why the “Catholic” woman acted so unkind to her co-worker. When we go to work we have a job to do, keep your personal life and beliefs out of it, unless the person’s behavior on the job is a problem. From what you state here the lesbian kept to herself and did her job, the Catholic woman seems to not be able to keep her personal beliefs out of the workforce. If the Catholic woman was truly charitable she would quietly Pray for her co-worker and show her Catholic kindness and love.

This Catholic woman was downright “mean in the name of the Lord”. If wearing only pants at work and calling her “partner” on the phone is flaunting, then I know a lot of straight people guilty of doing the same thing.

I was so happy when she quit. She was such a drain on the department. A true Buzz-kill.
