If this booklet really is called “Just the Facts about Sexual Orientation and Youth”, then we’re dealing with a book of lies with a BIG LIE right on the cover if they insist that homosexuality is normal or that religious views against it are wrong by default.

I hate knowing that I will probably have to battle my daughter’s schools on issues like this when she’s old enough to go…
 
I would like to know when this booket will be introduced into the school systems. Will it be a mandatory read or an elective?,.,.Either way, if that booklet comes into my home, it will “accidently” fall into my garbage can:rolleyes: .
 
It’s a tough balance to walk. As someone who has lived with SSA all my life-I would have LOVED to have had some help with the harassment and bullying I received in school. I would have loved to have someone tell me that I wasn’t insane, that I wasn’t sinful just for being born the way I was. The only way I came to grips with it was because I had wonderful parents and Priests.

However, I can’t support telling kids that the sexual activity-any sexual activity-is normal and without consequences. And I REALLY can’t support telling kids that the religious instruction that they are receving at home is wrong.

The only problem I have with religous folks and homosexuality is when they cannot separate the active, “practicing” homosexual from those of us who have not chosen to “practice”.

Actually, it is a very, very fair discussion with very reputable sources. Here is the actual booklet.

It presents it as what it is, not using any stereotypes whatsoever. It uses creditable quotes from psychology and social work groups. This is a very good booklet that should be distributed in as many schools as possible. 👍 :cool:
