Dover, DE – Delaware pro-life Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell surprised political pundits Tuesday night by defeating Republican Senate candidate Mike Castle, a longtime pro-abortion congressman whose pro-abortion and pro-embryonic stem cell research funding views clashed with O’Donnell’s.

Ok, I’ll be the squeaky wheel who asks uncomfortable questions.
  1. What good is winning in the primary if you can’t win in November?
  2. By not winning in Novemember, you’ll give another vote to the radical pro-choicers. So…?
  3. I live in New Hampshire, and both canidates on one side who had a real shot are both pro-life. One filed a suit against Planned “Parenthood” and the other is a such a respectable leader in the Catholic community he seems too nice for politics. Both are very pro-life. The other canidates didn’t really stand a chance.

**Your assumption that someone “can’t” win in November is unfounded.

Stranger things have happened.

It is far better to support an inexperienced, flawed, pro-life candidate than a slick, self-serving, pro-abortion “catholic” career politician like Joe Biden!

When Jesus was dying on the Cross for our sins, all of the educated, powerful elites laughed, mocked & derided Him!

Where are they now???

Jesus has already won the ultimate victory for us, we just have to fight the good fight, even if we lose to evil, we have won!!!

Ok Mark. Ignore practical matters like where they live (Delaware is a liberal state, NH is a moderate one…I live in the latter) and focus on a hypothetical. Then see what happens.

While it is a mute point - a practicing Catholic would not have considered voting for the opposing candidate. There is no way to squint and choose a pro-abortion, pro-fetal stem cell research, and pro gay marriage candidate and consider them over a candidate that opposes all of the non-negotiables.

Lamenting the loss of this Senate seat is something a Republican can do - but as Catholics we should choose to rejoice that or brothers and sisters voted their conscience and were consistent with the teachings of the Church.
