Please tell me if i am off base by thinking that if one is Catholic then when going to the voting booths your primary concern is for voting for a Pro-Life Candidate. All else should be secondary as long as the population in whole is not threatened by the candidate who may be pro-life?#@. Truthfully, when face to face with Christ, if we’re lucky enough, will we be held responsible for voting for a pro-choicer or pro-lifer? I have numerous Catholic/Christian friends who vote for the candidate who is not necessarily pro-life. I feel compelled to set them straight kindly…Should I, Is it my obligation?

As a 62 year old RCIA candidate, I will not be voting Republican. Yes, they give lip service to be pro-life. But the population as a whole IS threatened, in my abject, humble opinion. The war in Iraq, the increase in the number of poor in America, the destruction of the Environment for the sake of Big Business, the continuous parade of sleaze and corruption in Washington, summed up by showing once again that it is the LOVE of money which is the root of all evil.

NOW, if some Priest, Bishop, or Cardinal gives me a DIRECT order to vote ONLY for pro-life candidates, I will do it. I have taken vows of chastity and obediance. I WILL do it. 😦

Now, have these orders been given?

I don’t mean subtle hints, strong suggestions, pious wishes, pastoral advice or anything like that. A direct order that I MUST vote Republican. :o

Well…?

It’s hard to hear where you’re coming from. As i peck away at the keyboard to reply, one arm is occupied by my 2 month old son. Can’t imagine supporting law that could kill other unborn children by the millions after seeing what lays in front of me. Are there democratic pro-lifers? Would that change things?

apologize for choosing the wrong site to ask this question…i’ll scidaddle over to the culture of death.

OF COURSE it would! Names, please? Especially fior the California elections? 👍

Don’t forget to take your attempt to lay a guilt trip on me with you.

OK, I suppose I am at fault. You asked an honest set of questions, and I was careless enough to give you my honest opinions as an answer. But when I see the devastation that Bush as inflicted on the two Middle east Countries we invaded, one of them based on a lie about WMDs, I just cannot stomach voting Republican.

Please cut me just a little slack.
