Hi, pro-lifers! Here’s an incredible opportunity to get the pro-life message on MTV. Even if you don’t watch it, millions of young people do and you have the chance to get a video on Total Request Live that shows strongly the pro-life message.

It’s called Can I Live by rapper Nick Cannon. The lyrics are down below. It’s a true story about how his mother wanted to abort him, but chose life. The video shows his mother lying in the abortion clinic, next to all the instruments, and Nick pleading (sort of like he’s a spirit) for her not to kill him, saying “that’s a life inside you, look at your tummy/what is becoming Ma, I am Oprah bound/ you can tell he’s a star from the Ultrasound.” In the end, she jumps off the table and runs out of the clinic, with Nick thanking her for the gift of life.

Good work. Yes, I did vote and you’re right this is a great opportunity to promote the culture of life. Too bad it is so rare. Nick Cannon must have a lot of courage to take such a bold, countercultural stand.

Artists have a lot of power and they should use their talents to give God the glory always and everywhere without counting the cost.
 
the video is really good- it shows his mom walking to the abortion clinics, and shows her paying as he asks if “$300 is the price of life?” and shows her lying on the table in her gown and hospital cap, shows the ultrasound and shows the abortionist grabbing the sharp, glinting instruments, but she jumps off the table and runs through the halls and out of the clinic. There’s little kids singing the chorus, “can i live?” and at the end, it shows her happy with a beautiful baby and a big group of little kids dressed in white, singing the chorus. at the end, he thanks his mother for choosing life and shows him hugging her. he directed it himself.

Not only did I vote but I passed the entire message to my e-mail distribution list and asked them to forward it, especially to the youth who MTV may want to target

I think they showed the making of this video on BET. I caught glimpses of it last week. I thought for sure that it was a pro-abortion music video, but the more I watched, the more I thought that maybe it wasn’t.

I went to the site and couldn’t download the video. Bummer.😦

His mom must be so proud of him. That song (I read the lyrics) is absolutely beautiful.

funny, but when i vote something seemed to keep going wrong with the webpage. i’m not sure all my votes were counted. (does a certain ‘somebody’ not want this song to air?!)

I know the video has aired on BET and according to his website, it has aired on MTV before. I did a search on the MTV website, but I couldn’t find anything. But I’m sure they’re not just going to show it randomly, so I thought if we could get it on TRL (supposedly a pretty popular show that they keep plaing throughout the day) we’d get TONS more people to see it.
