Here’s an incredible opportunity to get the pro-life message on MTV. Even if you don’t watch it, millions of young people do and you have the chance to get a video on Total Request Live that shows strongly the pro-life message. It’s already been shown on BET.

It’s called Can I Live by rapper Nick Cannon. The lyrics are down below. It’s a true story about how his mother wanted to abort him, but chose life. **The video shows his mother lying in the abortion clinic, next to all the instruments, and Nick pleading (sort of like he’s a spirit) for her not to kill him, ** saying “that’s a life inside you, look at your tummy/what is becoming Ma, I am Oprah bound/ you can tell he’s a star from the Ultrasound.” In the end, she jumps off the table and runs out of the clinic, with Nick thanking her for the gift of life.

Well, okay, I’m submitting my vote…even though I’ve never seen that “vid” (gaaaah!!! I despise this fake-black lingo!!). I’m hesitant to hope for too much, though…I’d seriously doubt MTV would want to push the pro-life agenda. You never know, though.

the video is really good- it shows his mom walking to the abortion clinics, and shows her paying as he asks if “$300 is the price of life?” and shows her lying on the table in her gown and hospital cap, shows the ultrasound and shows the abortionist grabbing the sharp, glinting instruments, but she jumps off the table and runs through the halls and out of the clinic. There’s little kids singing the chorus, “can i live?” and at the end, it shows her happy with a beautiful baby and a big group of little kids dressed in white, singing the chorus. at the end, he thanks his mother for choosing life and shows him hugging her. he directed it himself.

I had already gone and voted for the video based on your first post.

Then I saw the video. What a beautiful young man and what a beautiful video. Just stunning! And ordinarily I don’t like rap music at all.

I’m so glad you brought this here and I hope this video will win. Our children NEED stuff like this on MTV!

It not like he needs our help by voting for the video cause he is a star…but that is awesome that he is using his stardom to help try to bring the horror of abortion to light. We need more people like this. I wonder what was said on Oprah, cause I am sure she is pro-choice.

Our pro life music video will be out in July, so hopefully you guys will vote for ours too (but I don’t know if 10 votes is enough) hehehehehe
 
This is such a great video. Thanks for telling us about it. I voted and then I found the Nick Cannon fan site. It says that “Can I Live” is going to be on trl but when I click on the link for the schedule, I don’t see it in the line-up. Does anyone know about this? Here’s the Nick Cannon site:

yeah- it noticed it said it had aired on those new video primere things (i never watch mtv, so i don’t really know) but i do know the way TRL works and I think, even with their pro-abortion stance, if they get enough votes, they HAVE to air it, I mean, they have to verify their votes with a lot of people, like the crazy Britney fans who hate Shania Twain and if they see her video beat Britney’s, they’ll demand proof.

If anything, at least we’ll spread the word about Cannon and encourage him and other artists to continue being pro-life. I think it’s important to show them that they WILL have vocal fans if they have good values, not be alienated. Even though, like most of you, I don’t like rap music, I LOVE this video!

I did the same thing, the post is very well written and I’m sure that pro-life-teen won’t mind. If this works we could save many souls and allow the youth to see the life in the womb
