My old thread was auto closed but what about safety PSAs?

this pro-seat belts/child restraints in cars one is really effective - the love between mother and daughter demonstrated by the mother placing the necklace on the wee bairn, the stuffed white bear… then the white flowers in the shape of a bear on the child’s coffin.

I remember this one (now cringe worthy) from my childhood

Recently this one really makes an impact:

I thought the so-called “Crying Indian” ad was okay until I found out Iron Eyes Cody was actually Italian-American.

This is the big one I remember from my youth. I used to wonder why a dope dealer never seemed to show up on any of the playgrounds I went to as a child.

Oh, you guys are all so young!! I’m a fossil.

I remember the PSA about “blasting caps!” And the pictures that showed little ones with no fingers. Scary!

And the PSA that said, “ALIENS! You must REGISTER…” (Those ads are probably against the law now and considered a violation of civil rights as well as “racist.”) But back then, my brother and I used to think that “ALIENS” referred to little green men from outer space and we wondered why none of them lived in our city. Well, obviously it was because they didn’t register, of course, and probably were in prison somewhere (underground out in Nevada?). Or because they all looked human like My Favorite Martian!

At least up until the 90s, maybe even into the 2000s, the international arrival terminal at LAX had a line for “US Citizens” and another labeled “Aliens”. It still might since that is still the legal term. I haven’t flown through LAX in a while. I always got a laugh out of that as a kid.
