Hello all,

Lately I have been having problems in taking the eucharist, i will go about the mass singing great songs and rejoicing, and enjoying observing the liturgy take place however toiday when i went to take the eucharist, i observed it fromt the priest and that it was blessed… however when i put it into my mouth i thik i “unblessed” it, through my own actions of mentality so to speak, i felt like i was in a state of mortal sin, and i pleaded silently onto m eway bac to my pew … i believe the pastor absolved me and i felt in my mouth the bleessed bread again

the reason i ask this is i dont want to ever take the blessed eucharist in such a manner again

It might be best to talk to a priest regards your concerns so Fr. can put your mind at rest.

That is certainly a strange account.

Only a Catholic Priest**] can Consecrate the Host: turning it into the Body; Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ in Person.

If one receives the Eucharist worthily:
  1. knowing that it is Christ
  2. Without unconfessed/ unforgiven Mortal sins
Then we can’t possibly “unconsecrate” the Host.by thought. One can defile it however by unbelief; receiving with KNOWN mortal sins; or treating the Host sacrilegiously.

What you relate is very strange. How could the priest bless you without knowing what you were thinking? And A mere “blessing” would not have the effect you expressed. What is it that we don’t know:shrug:

God Bless you, thanks for sharing,
Patrick

I’ve heard stuff like that from Exorcist stories,
not saying that you are possessed or anything,
but evil spirits may be affecting you.

Demons are everywhere, even in Churches, no place is safe
except the one who has Faith in Jesus.

According to the book, An Exorcist Tells His Story Confession is the best defense against the evil one. Confess everything, even that one thing that you don’t want anyone to know about, for all it takes is that one sin that leads to guilt and fear which creates a doorway for the devil to enter.

Or maybe you lack proper mind control, you could take some meth-based ADD medicine and suffer the consequences of doing it the easy yet expensive way, or do it this way, find either a nice statue or pic of Jesus, and practice visualizing him.

Why? Why is it easier to see a dream when we are sleeping? It’s like in order
to see another reality we got to be sleeping, but for some oddball reason we
can’t control what we want to see in our dreams, we usually dream about stuff that is symbolic to the stimuli in our daily lives. But in waking conditions, we are affected by the things we see, and the thoughts that follow them as well.

Well, I try to bring the dream to the waking state, by forcing myself to seeing the image of Jesus behind closed eyelids by every now and then refocusing on his image. Instead of being affected by Temptation thru the sight of “it” and all the thoughts that accompany it, I train my mind to see what I want it to see, thru my visualization method. This brings the mind under better control and sin will not enter my heart. This is not a one-time cure all method. It has to be practiced daily.

Only when your Mental Stability is strong will your Faith get Stronger.

Matthew 14:28 And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, bid me come to you on the water.” 29 He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus;30 but when he saw the wind,** he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” 31 Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him, saying to him, **“O man of little faith, why did you doubt?” ****

Hi pw,

I agree with the others who say that you should go and talk to your parish priest or pastor about this,so that he can help you.
