**Professor Disciplined for Punishing Christian Student Who Refused to Lobby for Homosexual Adoption
**By John-Henry Westen
SPRINGFIELD, MO, November 14, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Emily Brooker, a student in the Missouri State University’s School of Social Work, sued the university after being punished by a professor for refusing to lobby in favour of homosexual adoption. Only weeks after launching the suit, the university has settled out of court and disciplined the professor in question.

did you read the WHOLE article???
After an investigation, the university has purged the grievance from Brooker’s academic record and has forced Kauffman to resign from his administrative duties. He was also put on non-teaching leave for the rest of the semester.

Yep. Relived of duties for the rest of the semester and forced to resign from administrative duties. That is not being fired
well lets see if they let him back at the start of the new semester…then we will see how effctive his discipline was:)

I think the University has lawyers that advised them to what degree they could censure the professor. If they fired him, then he might be allowed to sue also. You have to give him time to reconcile his differences and strong opinions that favor homosexuality and discriminate against Christianity. Remediation is most definitely required before firing a tenured professor. I think many professors will take note of this action. The University did the right thing.

This prof will do it again. The Union and tenure kept it from being a termination from the job. Sad. Pray for the prof and the school officials.

I don’t think the prof will do it again. I think being taken away from his class was sufficient humiliation at this point. I am sure if he does it again, he could be fired and tenure would not save him.

The sick part of this is that Kauffman probably made a move which will advance his career.

How so? He may have some clout with other really left profs. However, he won’t make the University happy if he keeps getting in the news and has many complaints from the public.

I can’t even conceive that being a legitimate assignment, let alone punishing the poor girl and subjecting her to “a 2 1/2 hour interrogation from an “ethics” committee.”

I can’t help but wonder if this professor had a personal agenda.

Doesn’t matter. The Culture of Death is extremely well funded. The establishment sees to the well being of those who push the limit and take a hit for the team. This guy just got his name known. Tim Gill, Geffen, Mixner, Soros, Eychaner–someone or some liberal NGO–will pick him up in two seconds if what he did causes him any serious problem where he is. They want profs like Kauffman out there seeing how far they can go.

Yes, I think this case sends a loud and clear message about the prof’s abuse of power. It was a good decision.

Look at the many profs that have been in the news lately. They have not been fired for their indiscretions no matter how bad. Conspiracy theory, pro-abortion assignments, anti USA and anti religion profs are still teaching and getting news coverage.

The prof in this case is still on the payroll and now has time to write for a journal and earn his next promotion.

how can you know he will do it again? Do you read minds?
Those that hold firm convictions do not back away from their beliefs.

No I do not read minds. Do you. But just as any true believer (religious) will defend their firmly held beliefs, a believer in “gay” rights to marriage etc will not change either. This prof brought his biases into his class and took a chance that he would not be challenged.

He could, very well, turn this around and make himself the victim/martyr. You know; claim he’s being punished/persecuted for his beliefs.

It will be interesting to see what comes out of this.

God Bless!
