Progesterone and Clomid. Experiences?

Hi everyone

I am on the Fertility Care program. My chart seems to indicate that I have both pre-peak and post-peak problems. So I will be starting on progesterone and clomid. After 2 years of infertility and an ever growing wish to become a mum I am so exited to finally get started on something.:yup:
Does anyone have good experiences with progesterone and/or clomid? (achieving pregnancy etc)

I’ve been on both Clomid and progesterone in our ttc journey. I experienced an early miscarriage after 4 months ttc and suspected I had low progesterone. Bloodwork confirmed what I suspected and we gradually became more agressive with Clomid pre-ovulation and prometrium post-ovulation. I did conceive once on a Clomid cycle–7 months after my first miscarriage–but lost that baby too. On a “break” cycle we conceived this baby–and found out about our blessing just a week or so before our first scheduled appointment with a specialist. I was taking prometrium after ovulation that cycle and continued with the prometrium until I was 24 weeks pregnant. I think the progesterone contributed to a healthy pregnancy and sticky baby.

I haven’t had to take progesterone supplements, but clomid works wonders! I O’d by myself for the first time in years, and once they bumped me up to 100mg, I got pregnant with little one #1 (7 weeks now, totally uneventful and wonderful). I’m also taking Metformin, because I have PCOS, it seems to help alot too.

We… well my wife, was on Chlomid when we were trying back in the day. We had no luck for almost 3 years then a miscarriage. About a year later we tried Chlomid with no result except we almost got divorced Part of it was both of us wanting kids and not having any luck but the Chlomid really made my wife “crazy” in her own words. She just wasn’t herself on so many levels.

What it did to though we bring up a lot of things that had been left unsaid for the previous 5 years as we were both helping each other deal with major family issues.

After we got that stuff worked out, we tried again but got pregnant the first month before the chlomid really took much effect. We did do the “washing” as well that time but it looks like, from the conception date, that we were pregnant before we did that. (we weren’t Catholic at the time and saw no issues with it).

We were pretty sure at the time we would never have another (that was 2002) and so my wife hasn’t been on contraception since (we became Catholic in 2008). However God has blessed us with 3 more sons so that now we have 4, ages 6, 4, 2 and 4 months.

Don’t give up, we were praying at had many others as well.

Actually, IUI (Intrauterine insemination) is neither approved nor disapproved by the Church, as long as the sperm is “‘licitly obtained’ (normal intercourse) but technologically prepared (washed, etc.).”
