Sounds like William and Mary’s College might be named after the Christian protestant King of England?

At any rate, the president, in October, took the cross down which has been on the altar for 60 years; the alumni are angry and holding back contributions.

Now as usual, we are into debate and diversity.

Yes the college WAS named for the very protestant William of Orange and protestant Queen Mary of England who was the daughter of James II, a Catholic.

If the cross at William and Mary was placed there years ago, this cross now has historical significance and should not be touched.

Saw an image like this on Traditional Family Property Magazine and as I have posted before the Mayflower was a similar flagship.Historically, even the toy manufacturers put out the correct image at one time…

Mt. Soledad Cross Victory: ACLU Loss
SAN DIEGO, February 22, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The California Supreme Court, yesterday, affirmed the precedent-setting decision of a California appellate court, which upheld the right of the people of San Diego to transfer the Mt. Soledad veterans memorial and cross to the federal government. At the same time, the Court denied the ACLU’s attempt to prevent the publication of the lower court decision favorable to the cross and veterans memorial. The ACLU was seeking to have the decision suppressed so that it would not be used against them in future lawsuits.

Only if it’s a public school. As such it should be governed by school charter.
William of Orange was a known bisexual while Mary II was a devout Anglican who should be shocked to see the cross taken out of a place in her honor.

From news article…

The President of the university, which became a public school in 1906, is a catholic. He wants the cross removed.

The man. Haley, a graduate, who is fighting to keep the 18 inch cross which was placed there is 1940 is also a catholic. Thomas Jefferson graduated from the college.

The issues are diversity and that cross represents “religious bigotry”.
