Proper disposal of a Bible?

I have a bible that was damaged by accident and now unusable. What’s the proper was to dispose it?

I believe burning it would be appropriate.
I know, that sounds counterintuitive to me, too, but burning is used for blessed items, & I would think that a Bible (even if not blessed) should probably receive the same.
